Airix OverBETA

Frequently Asked Questions: Airix Over (Beta)

Last updated: June 11, 2026

Eligibility and account

Who can use Airix Over?

The platform is reserved for certified pharmacies and licensed healthcare professionals in Canada. It is not accessible to the general public. Listings and prices are never publicly visible or indexed by search engines.

How is my pharmacy verified?

We validate your provincial licence before granting you access to the marketplace and before you can publish a listing. You must notify us without delay of any suspension, restriction or revocation of your licence.

How much does it cost to register?

Registration is free. Service fees apply only to the seller when a transaction is completed (see the Fees section).

What you can sell or buy

What products can I sell?

Surplus or short-dated medications and used equipment, coming from your regular inventory acquired from a manufacturer or a licensed wholesaler. Each listing must indicate the DIN, product name, strength, format, lot number, expiry date, quantity and condition.

What products are prohibited?

Strictly excluded: narcotics, controlled drugs and targeted substances; expired, recalled, damaged or counterfeit products; medications dispensed or returned by a patient; biological products, vaccines, blood and blood products; radiopharmaceuticals; Special Access Program drugs; drugs with a conditional market authorization (NOC/c); cannabis; compounded and repackaged preparations; manufacturer samples; and any product with an undocumented cold chain.

Why are controlled substances completely prohibited?

The law strictly regulates these substances. The platform may not be used in any way in connection with them, including for matchmaking or negotiation, even if the transaction were to be concluded elsewhere.

Regulatory compliance

Does Airix Over buy or sell the products?

No. Airix Over acts solely as a technology intermediary. The platform never takes possession of or title to products and does not set their prices. The seller sets the price; the buyer may purchase at the listed price or negotiate.

Does reselling regularly to other pharmacies make me a wholesaler?

Possibly. The sale of prescription drugs other than at retail may constitute wholesaling, which requires a Drug Establishment Licence (DEL) from Health Canada. The platform is intended for the occasional disposal of surplus, not for distribution. A pharmacy that resells in a systematic or high-volume manner is exposed to being characterized as an unlicensed wholesaler. You are solely responsible for assessing, with legal counsel where appropriate, whether your activities require a licence. Airix may impose volume limits and suspend accounts with a distribution profile.

Can I bill the RAMQ for a drug bought on the platform?

Possibly not. In Quebec, only products purchased from a recognized wholesaler or recognized manufacturer may be billed to the RAMQ. Verify the applicable rules before purchasing. Airix makes no representation as to billability.

How does traceability work in the event of a recall?

The DIN, lot number, expiry date and the identity of the pharmacies are recorded for each transaction and retained for at least one year after the expiry date of the lot. These records make it possible to trace the buyers of a lot and to support the execution of recalls.

Transactions, payment and shipping

How does a transaction work?

You publish a listing or browse offers, conclude by direct purchase or negotiated offer, pay online and generate a shipping label. The transaction is concluded once both buyer and seller have confirmed it.

How does payment work?

Credit card payment is processed by our third-party provider Paysafe and held until receipt is confirmed. Airix does not store any credit card data.

What are the fees?

Fees are borne by the seller and deducted from the transaction amount: 5% by credit card. Applicable taxes are added.

Who is responsible for shipping?

The seller. You compare rates and purchase the label through our providers (ClickShip/Freightcom, ShipStation/ShipEngine). The seller is responsible for compliant packaging and compliance with transport requirements, including the cold chain. Airix is not responsible for loss, delay or damage in transit.

Privacy and data

What information do you collect?

Email, password (hashed), pharmacy name, provincial licence number, contact name, phone and address, as well as your listings, orders, messages and shipping data. The platform does not collect any patient health information.

Where is the data hosted?

Data is hosted in Canada (Canadian data residency), with encrypted communications (HTTPS/TLS).

Is my data shared with third parties?

Only to the extent strictly necessary: shipping providers (addresses of both pharmacies), payment provider, and Anthropic's Claude API if you use the optional assistant. We never sell your information.

What are my rights?

You have the rights of access, rectification, withdrawal of consent and portability. Write to info@airix.ca; we respond within a maximum of 30 days.

Beta phase

What does being in beta mean?
